As a kid I was mostly to be found reading, writing or ‘cutting and sticking’.
(A friend pointed out recently that was my earliest attempt at ‘editing’!)
To find me you just followed the trail of tiny bits of paper I’d leave around the house.
Mum (who wasn’t allowed to throw any of these bits of paper away as they were all ‘needed’) taught me to read when I was three and I started school early.
I came out on the first day crying, and she worriedly asked me what had happened, thinking the worst because I was so little…
“I didn’t get given a reading book!”
Back home, comforted with some orange squash, a Nice biscuit to dunk into it, and my trusty scissors and glue in hand, mum promised to make sure I got a reading book the next day.
(Which I did, as well as climbing to the top of the frame in the playground and nearly fainting as I didn’t know how to climb back down.)
My journey through primary school was big-fish-small-pond, winning academic prizes and leads in the shows, being the best at reading the 24 hour clock, and having prize-winning handwriting (must have been much neater than it is now).
Let’s just say I wasn’t what you’d call a sporty child.
And from the age of eight I had massive owl glasses, but as there were only seven girls in our year and you need seven for a netball team, I got away with it.
Cue secondary school - Hundreds of kids, many of them absolutely huge, and suddenly I was very much a small fish in a fecking massive pond.
(My best mate and I didn’t leave the tutor room at breaks except to eat lunch for the first two months as it was so terrifying.)
Sport was not happening as there were girls who could actually throw, catch and run, but...
Joining recorder club (absolute legend)
Along with choir, drama group and starting saxophone lessons opened up lots of creative fun with really kind teachers.
In this big pond, I was very much a ‘member-of-the-chorus’ contributor - the heady days of leading Cinderella in a weird adaption called Wellie-Ella with a costume including gumboots were long-gone.
Academically though, I cracked on. I loved school, smashed through most things easily and found that 90% of the time I could get everything done fast and have time for a laugh afterwards.
(Occasionally ending up with having to stand in the corridor for arsing about too much).
Despite every school report for five years saying ‘Michelle talks too much’ I left with As and Bs.
With mum’s words “I can see you being a lawyer or a journalist” on board, and having looked those jobs up in the Encyclopaedia Britannica (with no better ideas of my own) I went off to college.
Law, Psychology and French A ‘Levels followed.
French A Level was hard. Psychology was brilliant. And Law I enjoyed because the teacher was funny, but it was very dry and all the rules were already made with no space for experimenting, so I scratched Law off the career plan options –
Journalism it was.
I toddled off to the University of Westminster to do a BA (Hons) in Media, specialising in Print Journalism.
My greatest strength (according to the head of Print) was in sub-editing, which I guess was passing over a piece of text and ‘cutting and sticking’ it into better shape, so no wonder I liked it.
After getting my degree I went to work as an Event Manager at a company I’d worked through during my years at Uni, which was great fun!
From there I moved into television as a Researcher. Not many people had come from a journalism background so my ability to find stuff fast made me shine…
Unfortunately my final year at Uni had involved a shattering heartbreak.
And a massive dent to my confidence, so whilst I did a good job, I didn’t really thrive.
I was sent a lot of review copies of books, by publishers who wanted their authors featured, and many of these were spiritual development.
The show producers were fairly cynical so they’d never get featured, but as a voracious reader with a limited budget for books (and no mum in town to take me to the library every week) I read them all.
The Celestine Prophecy, The Journey, and many others about healing and transformation.
I began to recognise that I lacked purpose.
The sense that I was living at surface-level was amplified by the attack on the Twin Towers, and I began to wonder what else I could do…
I didn’t want to be a journalist. I definitely didn’t want to be a lawyer. But I really wanted to do something that had meaning.
I could not have predicted what followed, so I followed my heart…
A couple of years later, having left TV and become a mum, my sweet baby daughter was turning out to be an insanely fussy eater...
A friend told me to go and see a kinesiologist.
I took my cynical-self to the appointment, and my mind was blown.
Ellie would only eat yoghurt, toast and Marmite.
The kinesiologist muscle-tested for allergies, and found that Ellie was allergic to lactose, sugar, brewers’ yeast and bakers’ yeast.
(Brewers’ yeast is in Marmite, we hadn’t been giving her beer.)
Then the lady said: “Would you like me to get rid of those allergies?”
And I said: “Say what now?”
And that’s what she did, using energy work.
When we left forty minutes later, Ellie wouldn’t touch her old ‘favourite’ foods. She started eating other things. Her favourites were tomatoes, cucumber, and raw carrot and pepper.
Even to a sceptic like me, there was no denying it - something had changed.
I was fascinated.
I went for a session myself, and I just knew - I have to learn how to do this.
The following year I had everything in place to begin my kinesiology training...
And two weeks before level one, I found out I was pregnant with my second daughter!
I enjoyed the course but the rest of the training had to go on hold.
A little later, post-natal, I had a Dark Night of the Soul, and ended up asking some big questions:
What is life really about?
Why are we here?
What is this planet?
How did we get to be here?
Who or What is God?
Over the following year I read, researched and contemplated, to create my own set of beliefs and theories about Life and the Universe.
The realisation of ‘I’m allowed to be happy’ coupled with ‘I can create my own happiness’, led me to a ‘big’ decision.
I ended my marriage.
(Four weeks later I met Pete.)
I’d continued to have energy work, and three years after the first attempt was cut short, at the end of 2009 I was finally ready to return to my kinesiology studies.
I flew through the Level One training.
My practice hours and theory work were completed and submitted ready to take Level Two at the next opportunity.
I loved it, and, I guess I just had a gift for it… the teacher suggested during Level One that I’d be a great teacher. (At the time that seemed wild I completely forgot about it until today!)
I was lucky to have a group of friends who were willing ‘guinea pigs’ for my practice sessions.
From my first fumbling attempts to muscle-test, they trusted me to work with them.
And what transpired in the sessions blew our minds.
The things their energy ‘told me’ and the results that transpired after we’d done the work, were so exciting!
Looking for my credentials? Here’s exactly what I’m qualified in:
Thousands of hours studying and client work:
I studied Levels 1 to 5 in rapid succession.
I did further training to reach Professional Standard - and then an Integrated Course to register with the Kinesiology Federation.
To climb the Kinesiology Federation ladder I gained qualifications in:
Counselling Skills & Ethics
Practice Management
Touch For Health
Nutritional Therapy
Diploma in Anatomy & Physiology (Distinction)
And also submitted a further 200 hours of client practice for assessment!
I reached KFRP, the highest level before becoming a teacher.
And for good measure I did courses in:
Intrusive Energies
16 Protocols
Assimilation Kinesiology
Level 2 Counselling Concepts
During this time I began to develop my own methods to help my clients.
I was especially interested in the psychological aspects of the work:
The way we think and feel, what we worry about, and how we see ourselves underpins so much of our wellbeing, happiness, potential and behaviour.
I also noticed that the energy techniques treated the chakras, meridians and energy fields separately.
I didn’t think there was anything particularly remarkable in what I was seeing or doing, until in conversation with a mentor I said something like:
“And it’s all part of one energy system.”
And she said:
“Oh! Yes, well... I suppose it is, I’ve never thought about like that.”
A little light
WENT ON IN MY BRAIN.
That light said:
You’re doing something different. You’ve caught up with the people you were learning from and now it’s perfectly ok for you to do your own thing.
I went full Cauldron Mode.
Trying things out, doing my own research, asking lots of questions of the energy and discovering and developing my own methods and systems.
There was information that seemed incredibly important, yet just wasn’t in any of the books that I’d read or courses I’d taken.
There were new ways of understanding, clearing and releasing energy that brought about rapid change.
‘Energy System Alignment’ I called it, back then.
The summer of 2013 I went to Denver, to train as an Infinite Possibilities Trainer with Mike ‘Notes from the Universe’ Dooley.
I went on to become the most prolific trainer in Europe, and was invited by Mike to speak at the London conference the following year.
And that even wasn’t the most life-changing thing that transpired from the conference…
Making some new friends, I showed them ‘Energy System Alignment’ - and they loved it.
They were so encouraging and enthusiastic they asked if I could do it on Skype when I got back to England.
I set about evolving my system so that it could be used remotely.
Energy Editing® had begun to take form.
The following year, my in-person practice was financially unviable
Despite helping lots of people and solving all sorts of problems, I just couldn’t make enough money.
(Hello blocks to money, pricing and selling!)
Pregnant with baby number three, I closed it down with a plan to teach Infinite Possibilities online, with some energy work added in.
A few months later, baby Jackson was thriving, and I was reading about ‘Upper Limits’ in Gay Hendricks’ book The Big Leap.
Realising I had an invisible ceiling on my income, I tuned in and used Energy Editing to find and clear the ‘money blocks’ that were there.
Within 24 hours I felt completely different about money.
I offered to help some other women with their money stuff in a facebook community, and the post just went crazy.
Then people started requesting 1-1 sessions – which thanks to my new techniques, I was now able to do online.
These clients got incredible results and referrals started pouring in.
Suddenly I was working with women who had done a lot of personal development, therapy, and healing modalities –
And they were letting me know that my work was the most powerful and transformational thing they’d ever experienced.
After a couple of months I couldn’t keep up with the demand, so...
I opened the world’s first group energy clearing program specialising in money mindset.
Prosperity Prescription made $45,267 in two weeks.
My husband quit his teaching job.
Our family’s lives were changed forever.
That was back in 2014, making me a pioneer in a tiny field that is now a fully-fledged industry!
When I asked the members of Prosperity Prescription what they’d like to learn from me, the response was overwhelmingly “I want to be able to clear my own blocks” – and so the Energy Editing self-study program was born.
By the end of 2015 the request was “I want to use this with my own clients”.
Energy Editing Practitioner Training began in 2016.
It was in-person in those days, with people flying from all over the world (including USA, Brazil, Malaysia, Andorra, Canada and Ireland) to learn with me in the UK.
In 2017 Morgan James published my first book.
Wealthology: The Science of Smashing Money Blocks was an instant hit and the book launch was held in New York!
They also published The Agile CEO, which I wrote the following year, and I self-published Money Blocks: 165 Beliefs that Limit Your Money-Making Potential in 2018.
Alongside writing and supporting my business clients, I used energy therapy to help people with love and body image, but my passion and purpose always led me back to helping people with money and success.
This expanded to ‘abundance’ when I was experimenting and discovered the 562 Abundance Frequencies!
In 2019 I was fortunate enough to speak at some fantastic events, including Elevate Live, and Archangel in Toronto.
At Charles Stanley Investment Bank in the City of London, I spoke about the blocks women have to investing.
The same year I welcomed amazing women to my own events, Uplift and Uplevel - a three day extravaganza clearing blocks to Money + Fun.
I’ve explored Women and Money, Keeping Money, Making Money, Making Peace with Money, Money and Freedom, Money and Ease…
You name it. If it relates to money mindset I’ve probably investigated it, helped clients with it, run a program for it, and written about it!.
(All of this research was lying dormant for a while, so in 2022 I gathered it together and created the Book of Blocks, so that others could use my extensive insights with their own energy work.)
In 2020 I could feel a new modality waiting to be shared.
THE EASE METHOD
Giving coaches and therapists a set of tools they could combine into their existing work, to make it much easier to give their clients profound breakthroughs.
This opened the door to the return of Energy Editing® Practitioner Training later in the year – online rather than in person, and without muscle-testing (this component later became an optional extra for those who wanted it).
In 2023 I brought the two modalities together as Clear Energy Therapy.
Energy Editing
Gives a coach or therapist the ability to clear energy with surgical precision.
Ease Method
Gives a gives a coach or therapist the ability to clear great swathes of energy at a time.
Together as Clear Energy Therapy
They are an unparalleled and formidable force for change and transformation.
This work has always been ahead of its time.
I’ve been saying for years that ‘soon every client will want their coach or therapist to be proficient at energy work’ because the results are unmatched.
Following this passion has led me to:
Train over 100 practitioners worldwide.
Make over $1.3 million in sales since July 2014 (average 130k a year for a decade).
And that’s a lot of profit, because there are no smoke and mirrors: I run a lean business; no big team, no ads, no grand marketing strategy.
There’s nothing wrong with those things, I point it out because I’ve built my business on repeat customers and referrals.
When people try Clear Energy Therapy, they tend to love it so much they want to use it and talk about it.
I’ve created bespoke energy clearing modalities for other coaches who are at the top of their game.
That’s how respected I am in this field – and how impactful my work is.
My methods are at the forefront of energy therapy.
Highly refined tools and techniques, developed to be the best in the business –
So that you can be the best in your business.
With love and kindness,
Michelle xx
